In Loving Memory of Noah DeVico
Dear Ones,
ACHEV is many things: a support group, an educational community, a group of friends, and in some sense, a family. It is with that last in mind that we write today.
One of our own families is walking a hard path, and while we know that many of you are aware of the circumstances, because some of us are not on social media these days, we wanted to make sure to proactively reach out to you all.
Jeff and Keary DeVico, and their daughters Morgan and Grace, are mourning the passing of their 19 year old son Noah after a skateboarding accident this past Monday. We know how dear this family has been to so many, and how dear Noah has been to the countless students and parents he has touched with his warmth, wit, intelligence, and bold faith. We wanted to make sure that everyone who so desired both knew of this and had the opportunity to pass along their deepest sympathies and to pray for the family.
While we mourn, we must remember that God is still good – in fact, the DeVicos have expressed this. We are reminded in Isaiah 57:1-2 (AMP), “The righteous man perishes [at the hand of evil], and no one takes it to heart; Faithful and devout men are taken away, while no one understands that the righteous person is taken away [to be spared] from disaster and evil. He enters into peace [through death]; They rest in their beds (graves), Each one who walked uprightly [following God’s will, living with integrity].” We mourn not as those who have no hope.
Noah himself left evidence of his faith and even now we have seen that his words are continuing to impact young people for the Lord. His YouTube videos are a sweet testimony of his faith, and a wonderful reassurance of his eternity. The first is his faith story – his testimony in his own words. The second is the senior video he worked tirelessly on to represent him just a few months ago at his graduation.
With blessings,
ACHEV Board of Directors
