DESCRIPTION:What: ACHEV Moms’ sushi lunch.  Let’s connect and have fun designing our own California-style sushi rolls!  We will eat our creations and you will get a box to take home your extras.  Bonnie will show everyone how to build and roll their sushi and will provide the equipment ands basic ingredients to put them together.  The rest of the ingredients will be potluck\, so please sign up to bring one or two items. \nCost: Free\, but please bring a potluck item.  Sign up to bring one or two items as you are able. \nItems that will be provided: Equipment\, Sushi nori\, rice\, toasted sesame seeds\, sauce\, cooked salmon\, and avocado. \nSuggested items to bring:  Please bring the items already sliced into long\, thin strips\, or shredded.  Asparagus would be left whole after discarding woody ends.  Items like bean sprouts and chives would not need any prep. Items with an asterisk* are the most needed items. \n \n  \n\nImitation or real crab*\nCarrots*\nBell Pepper*\nEnglish cucumber*\nPurple cabbage\nBean sprouts\nMushrooms\nChives\nBlanched asparagus\nCooked shrimp (peeled & deveined)\nWasabi and pickled sushi ginger (if this is a must have for you\, please bring it!)\nSteamed edamame side dish\nBe creative – what else would you like to put in a sushi roll or have to eat on the side?\n\nPlease sign up here by July 22nd.  Limited to 7 moms.

DESCRIPTION:Calling all master builders! Join us for a sandcastle showdown. Bring your creativity and get ready to dig in the sand. Sign up with your team or put your name down to be assigned a team and make new friends! 🙂 \nSIGN UP! \nPlease read over this section with your student so they understand the judging criteria and rules. \nSandcastle competition rules: \n\nBuilding time will start at 10AM and end at 11:15AM. If you are early you may set up your equipment but may not begin any work. If you are late\, you can still get to work but will not get any extra time.\nSand & water only: The structure must be built using only sand and water. No additives. Sticks and rocks may not be used internally to hold structure up.\nNatural decorations ONLY: You may decorate with items naturally found on a beach. You may scavenger ahead of time and bring beach items into competition. So\, get out there and start collecting 🙂  (No glitter\, paint\, toys\, glass\, trash etc.)\nTools: Molds and forms OK. buckets\, bowls\, shovels\, hand tools\, measuring spoons etc. please remove molds and forms before judging begins.\nYou may not vote for your own castle.\nDeep holes dug for water or sand must be completely filled in before leaving the beach.\n\nHow Judging will work: \nEvery person present will be given three different colored popsicle sticks. When time runs out you will hand the popsicle stick to your favorite castles based on creativity\, difficulty\, and most detailed. \nRed = creativity\nIs it unique? Is there a theme?\nBlue = difficulty\nWas this really hard to build? Is it super tall?\nGreen = most detailed\nAre there windows\, bridges\, a lot of decoration? \nThe group with the most amount of one color will win that category.

DESCRIPTION:*ACHEV activities\, events\, and field trips are for ACHEV students unless otherwise noted. * \nTake a break with us at the park!  We encourage you to join us weekly at a park in Ventura for a mid-day break. In the Next two weeks the group will be meeting at Barranca Vista Park. Park day is a great way to meet other parents on a similar educational journey\, pick each other’s brains for ideas\, encourage and pray for each other.  It’s also a great way for the kids to make friends and get exercise. \n \nGroup will be meeting at different parks in Ventura!
