DESCRIPTION:What: One Acre Farm is only open to the public on Saturdays\, and we have arranged a special field trip so that we can pick together on Friday March 20th.  One Acre Farm is just outside of Camarillo in the Santa Rosa Valley.    Co-Owner Scott Bahler is excited to share with our kids his knowledge of healthy eating habits\, organic farming\, varieties of blueberries\, how to start farming\, and the rewards and challenges they face being small farmers.  He will also answer questions anyone has.  Here is an article the VC Star did on them last year.  You can learn a little about them by reading: https://www.vcstar.com/story/life/2019/03/07/one-acre-farm-camarillo-organic-blueberries/3070997002/ \nMost likely there will also be organic strawberries available for picking\, though I don’t know the price for those yet. \n \n \n  \nWho: Everyone.  This field trip is family friendly. \nCost: Field Trip is free\, and you are welcome to pick blueberries for $3.50 per 6 oz container. \nDetails: \n\nWear closed toe shoes.\nDo not bring dogs.\nI do not recommend bringing a stroller.  We will be given golf cart rides (the kids’ favorite part) up to the acre.  Toddlers can walk around and pick berries (or play with sticks and dirt)\, and it would be a good idea to have a carrier if you are bringing a baby.\nDress in layers\, wear sunscreen & hats\, bring water.\nThere are nice bathrooms below the parking lot\, but there are no bathrooms near the acre where we are picking.\nStay and pick as long as you like\, and leave when you are ready\n\nSign Up using the link below.

DESCRIPTION:Join us at Mel Vincent Park in Camarillo.  This is Camarillo’s newest park.  There are two really fun play grounds\, basketball courts\, and sand volleyball courts.  There is a large grass area\, adult exercise equipment\, and a nice sidewalk that meanders around the park that is great for scooters\, skates\, or bikes (if the kids are careful around pedestrians).  They recently installed bathrooms at this park; the park website has not been updated with that information. \nWe usually have two or three teens at Camarillo Park Day.  If you have a teen that likes sports\, please join us!  They would really enjoy having more kids to hang out with and get a game of basketball or volleyball going (or something else). \nIf you are coming from Oxnard or Ventura\, you can exit Springville\, or Las Posas. \nPark day is a great time for moms to relax and chat while the kids play.  We have kids of all ages joining us.  Take a break in your school day and join us for recess/lunch/PE at the park!  Camarillo Park days are every 1st and 3rd Tuesday throughout the year.  We will change parks now and then\, so make sure to check the calendar to see where we are going to be. \n

Many do every year.\nAll dancers under 18 need a parent chaperone. Parent chaperones attend free.\nPlease bring a finger-food to share. Water provided. Live music! \nGuests? Yes\, please! The more the merrier!\nClear your guests in advance with April Osborne at jimandapril@gmail.com. \nNo prior experience necessary\, as dances will be taught and called. This dance requires attention to learn and follow instructions in order for everyone to get the most enjoyment out of each dance. DESCRIPTION:What: Field trip to Houweling’s Tomatoes in Camarillo \nHouweling’s Goup is is a family owned\, world-renowned greenhouse vegetable grower dedicated to delivering a full complement of delicious tomatoes\, cucumbers\, peppers and herbs\, while constantly innovating to reduce its environmental footprint. \nWe will be going on an outside walking tour of the facility.  We will be able to view the greenhouse\, but will not be going inside the greenhouse because of crop safety concerns. \nThe tour will last approximately one hour\, depending on questions\, and student interest. \nWho: Parents and students ages 9 and up only.  Maximum 15 people (including parents).  If you need to stay home with a younger child\, you can ask another parent to chaperone your older child that would like to attend the field trip. \nHow Much: Free \nDo: Wear closed toed shoes.  Dress in layers as we will be outside\, they also tend to have a strong breeze this time of year.  Bring cameras\, they just ask that you not take photos of their employees without their permission. \nAdditional Info: \nHere is an interview on youtube with the owner: \n\nParking: Guests can park along the gravel and dirt areas next to the greenhouse\, Please DO NOT drive into the greenhouse unless handicap spot needed. \nSign up by adding your information to the google sheet linked below. \n  \n

DESCRIPTION:**You May Drop off for This Activity** but parents are more than welcome to stay if they like. \nCome for a fun time and mark PE off on your homeschooling checklist.   Mr. Adair is running this clinic again for ACHEV boys and girls (including his own kids) to learn how to play volleyball.   They will focus on learning the skills needed to play a game: serving\, passing\, setting\, and getting the ball over the net.  They will also learn the rules of the game\, how to rotate\, the roles of each position\, and eventually they will learn the position they are best suited for with their unique abilities. \nWho: ACHEV boys and girls ages 10 and up. \n\nParents and younger siblings are welcome to stay and watch\, go play on the playground\, relax\, etc.  You may drop your child/ren off as long as they will stay with the group\, but please let Kevin know that you are dropping off and make sure he has your contact information.  It would be nice to have one parent that is willing to stay to help the kids with their drills\, keep score during the game\, etc.  \n\nWhen: This is a weekly clinic.  We will take the week of Thanksgiving off\, and continue through Dec 14th before breaking for the holidays.  I will keep you posted about when we will start back up in the new year.     I will keep it updated on the ACHEV calendar. \nRSVP Required: We need at least 8 kids to play.  The Adair kids will always be there\, so that means we need 6 more.  Please RSVP by Thursday night\, or I will have to cancel the clinic for that week.  RSVP using the RSVP feature below.   Maximum 18 kids. \nWe are excited about this clinic and hope to see the kids grow in physical stature\, have fun working as a team\, and enjoying some friendly competition.

SUMMARY:Mom's Night Out: Christmas Party
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a fun evening of crafting and eating yummy treats!\nAndie Savard will be leading us in a craft!  We will be making book snowmen.\nPlease bring your own exacto knife with a new blade\, and a paperback 300-500 pages (I like 400+). The floppier the binding\, the better. Front and back covers get removed\, so its ok if the book has damaged covers. I get mine at Goodwill on Wednesdays for $.50. I will bring a few extras\, but I find I like mine to be books that I’ve read and enjoyed. Makes the art more meaningful for me.\nPlease being a treat to share.  Apple cider will be provided.\nSpace is limited for the craft.\nAll are welcome to come enjoy the fellowship and treats!\nRSVP by December 5th.
