SUMMARY:Volleyball Clinic**Cancelled Today
DESCRIPTION:**You May Drop off for This Activity** but parents are more than welcome to stay if they like. \nCome for a fun time and mark PE off on your homeschooling checklist.   Mr. Adair is running this clinic again for ACHEV boys and girls (including his own kids) to learn how to play volleyball.   They will focus on learning the skills needed to play a game: serving\, passing\, setting\, and getting the ball over the net.  They will also learn the rules of the game\, how to rotate\, the roles of each position\, and eventually they will learn the position they are best suited for with their unique abilities. \nWho: ACHEV boys and girls ages 10 and up. \n\nParents and younger siblings are welcome to stay and watch\, go play on the playground\, relax\, etc.  You may drop your child/ren off as long as they will stay with the group\, but please let Kevin know that you are dropping off and make sure he has your contact information.  It would be nice to have one parent that is willing to stay to help the kids with their drills\, keep score during the game\, etc.  \n\nWhen: This is a weekly clinic.  We will take March 13th off because Kevin has to work\, and Good Friday off (April 10th). \nRSVP Required: We need at least 8 kids to play.  The Adair kids will always be there\, so that means we need 6 more.  Please RSVP by Thursday night\, or I will have to cancel the clinic for that week.  RSVP using this spreadsheet:  https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/19SRc0NQq0M1VXEv2etpngDJOURHwZX1dD6W2M5h5YWY/edit?usp=sharing \nI just copied my kids’ names all across the columns.  Hopefully this isn’t too much trouble for everyone.  I just need something to help me keep track and make sure we have enough kids to play each week. \nWe are excited about this clinic and hope to see the kids grow in physical stature\, have fun working as a team\, and enjoying some friendly competition.

SUMMARY:Poverty Encounter Field Trip
DESCRIPTION:What: A group visit to Poverty Encounter\, an amazing ministry that I learned about while at the CHEA conference. \n“An immersive\, interactive experience\, Poverty Encounter provides a unique understanding of the impact of living in poverty\, and opportunities to make a difference.” \n\nEncountering Poverty\n\n\n\n\nby Lynn Phillips\, Poverty Encounter at Children’s Hunger Fund \nHave you ever heard your children say\, “I’m starving\,” “there’s nothing to eat\,” or “I don’t like this meal!”? Do you wish your children had a greater appreciation for what they have? As a homeschool mother of four\, it pained me to hear my boys’ lack of gratitude for all the Lord had given them. One of the reasons we homeschooled was to teach our kids about who God is and that they can play a part in His plans. My husband and I wondered how we could open our children’s eyes to the abundance they had before them. \nRead the rest of this article at http://www.homeschool411.com/family/encountering-poverty/ \nWhen: Tuesday\, December 10th\, 10 am-12 pm:  Please arrive 10 minutes before your reservation time and check in at the Poverty Encounter entrance of the building.  Each tour is 90 minutes with a 30-minute service activity during which guests will be able to pack food for families in need.  There is a considerable amount of walking and standing throughout the experience so please dress comfortably. \nCost: $7 per person ages 6 and up.  5 and under\, free.  Paid in advance.  Sales for this event will close two weeks before the event on November 26th at 10AM. This is what they ask so that they can work out scheduling in preparation for our event.   They have created a special link just for our group\, to purchase tickets online. \nTo sign up for this field trip: \,Visit this link  and purchase your tickets now.  Then\, please enter your information on this Google Sheet \nMore Info: Poverty Encounter FIeld Trip Info \n

SUMMARY:Volleyball Clinic
We will take the week of Thanksgiving off\, and continue through Dec 14th before breaking for the holidays.  I will keep you posted about when we will start back up in the new year.     I will keep it updated on the ACHEV calendar. \nRSVP Required: We need at least 8 kids to play.  The Adair kids will always be there\, so that means we need 6 more.  Please RSVP by Thursday night\, or I will have to cancel the clinic for that week.  RSVP using the RSVP feature below.   Maximum 18 kids. \nWe are excited about this clinic and hope to see the kids grow in physical stature\, have fun working as a team\, and enjoying some friendly competition.

SUMMARY:Camarillo Park Day
DESCRIPTION:Join us at Pitts Ranch Park in Camarillo for a play date\, fellowship & P.E.   This park has two play structures – one for smaller kids and one for bigger kids.  There is a baseball/kickball field and tennis courts.  We will bring a few tennis rackets and balls\, and the minimal baseball gear that we have.  There are wood chips – no sand. There are restrooms next to the playground.  There is lots of sidewalk that can be fun for riding bikes.  Bring some outdoor toys\, sports equipment\, blanket\, chairs and picnic lunch. \nPark day is a great time for moms to relax and chat while the kids play.  The older kids usually get a sport or game going.  We have kids of all ages joining us.  Take a break in your school day and join us for recess/lunch/PE at the park!  Camarillo Park days are every 1st and 3rd Tuesday throughout the year.  We will change parks now and then\, so make sure to check the calendar to see where we are going to be. \n
