SUMMARY:Cienega Springs Ecological Reserve Field Trip
DESCRIPTION:ACHEV activities\, events\, and field trips are for ACHEV students unless otherwise noted.\n\n\n\n\nACHEV Mom\, Leslie McClaron has arranged this fun field trip for us.  Her friend works here and offered to give us a tour!  Thanks Leslie! \nWhat: The Cienega Springs Ecological Reserve consists of 234 acres of restored wetland and riparian habitat along the Santa Clara River. This river system begins in the San Gabriel mountain range and continues westward for about 100 miles into Ventura county\, where it meets with the pacific ocean between Ventura and Oxnard. Riparian systems such as this one serve as a critical habitat for a wide range of native plant and animal species. \nYour visit will consist of a site tour along our restored Loop Trail (outlined on the map in green) where your students will have access to incredible views of the reserve from our viewing platform. They will gain hands-on knowledge about the native plant species and how they function in the ecosystem. There will be plenty of opportunities to connect with the animal species on site to help the students understand why it is so important to support the restoration efforts of their habitat. Our team is happy to answer any questions they may have! \nWe are excited to welcome the future stewards of this land! \nWhen: Tuesday\, June 16th 2026 10:00am\, please arrive at 9:50 so we have time to park\, assemble\, and begin on time. Tour will last approximately one hour\, depending on the time spent on questions from kids and parents =) \nWho: ACHEV members\, all ages & parents. \nCost: Free \nDeadline to Sign Up: June 8th at 10am\, after this we will turn in our final headcount.  Sign up sheet below – keep scrolling =) \nWhere: Fillmore\, CA  CSER Site – this map link will lead you to a staging area with storage containers where the guide will be waiting for you. \n \nPreparation: Please bring water (and snacks if needed). A waiver is included on the following pages\, please write your children’s name on the first page and sign yours on the last. \nPrintable Waiver Here: VOLUNTEER WAIVER eco reserve Fillmore  it is also copied below at the end of this notice. \nSign Up Here by June 8th!\n \nVOLUNTEER WAIVER\, RELEASE\, AND INDEMNITY AGREEMENT \nBetween \nSanta Clara River Conservancy \nand \n  \n(hereinafter “the volunteer”) \n  \n  \nThis document sets forth the responsibilities and understandings of the volunteer and of Santa Clara River Conservancy regarding volunteer’s participation in volunteer programs partially or wholly coordinated by Santa Clara River Conservancy. \n  \nThe volunteer and Santa Clara River Conservancy agree as follows: \n  \n\nThe volunteer performs the service of the volunteer’s own free will\, without promise\, expectation\, or receipt of remuneration. The volunteer is not an employee or agent of Santa Clara River Conservancy for any purpose and the volunteer’s services are not controlled nor mandated by Santa Clara River Conservancy.\nIf the volunteer is under the age of 18\, the volunteer may only participate in volunteer service with the express written consent of the volunteer’s parent or guardian.\nThe volunteer understands and agrees that it is possible that the volunteer may be injured or otherwise harmed during volunteer service due to accidents\, acts of nature\, the volunteer’s negligent or intentional acts\, or the negligent or intentional acts of others; that while Santa Clara River Conservancy has taken some steps to reduce the chances of injuries or harm to the volunteer\, that Santa Clara River Conservancy has no control over most risks\, and\, thus\, cannot and does not guarantee nor take any responsibility for the safety of the volunteer or the volunteer’s property while the volunteer is engaged in volunteer service; and that the volunteer must take full responsibility for himself or herself and assume the risk of harm or damage while serving by taking all necessary and reasonable precautions and acting in a manner that will help protect himself or herself and his or her property.\nThe volunteer agrees to waive and release Santa Clara River Conservancy from any and all potential claims for injury\, illness\, damage\, or death which the volunteer may have against Santa Clara River Conservancy that might arise out of the volunteer’s service and to hold Santa Clara River Conservancy harmless there from. SUMMARY:Ties & Tiaras: A Father Daughter Dance
DESCRIPTION:What: Daddies and Daughters\, we are having a special event for you!  Get your special girl (or girls) a corsage and bring her to the Father-Daughter Dance.   We encourage the Dads to wear a tie and the girls to wear a tiara.  All girls wearing a tiara will be entered into a drawing for a prize.  There will be a mini-lesson so you will know enough steps to take your girl on the dance floor.  We’ll also do a line dance or two.  We will have light refreshments\, punch\, and water.   \nWho: All ACHEV Dads and their daughters age 5+\, including graduates.  We also encourage Grandfathers\, Stepfathers\, Uncles and other adult male role models/father figures to accompany a young lady.  What if you have more than one daughter?!    You can have another adult male accompany one of your daughters\, or if you are accompanying more than one young lady\, we will rotate partners so that all your girls will get some dance time. \nCost: $25 per pair\, and $5 for a single daughter.  For example; If Dad comes and bring two daughters\, it would be $25+$5=$30 total.  If Dad comes with three daughters\, it would be $35.  If Dad comes with two daughters and Grandpa\, it is $25 per pair/couple so it would be $50.  Pay with cash or check made out to ACHEV when you arrive\, or pay with Zelle to achevmail@gmail.com \nTime: Event will begin at 3:00\, please arrive at 2:45 to check in at the ticket table\, take photos\, and be ready to begin on time. \nDress Code: Dads\, please honor this special time with your daughters by dressing nice and following the dress code.  Daughters must also follow the dress code\, the dress code applies to all ages.  Ties and Tiaras will be admired\, but are not required.  We encourage you to wear semi-formal attire\, but the minimum dress code is below. This is our standard dress code for ACHEV dances. \nFathers: \n\nCollared shirts (button-up or polo)\, long sleeve or short sleeved.\nSlacks\, NO jeans. Do not wear pants that look like jeans.  \nClosed toe shoes.\n\nDaughters: \n\n Skirts or dresses knee length or longer. (This means touching the top of the kneecap\, regardless of leggings.) If there is a lace overlay\, the skirt underneath (solid fabric) needs to touch the kneecap.\nSlits in skirts cannot rise above the top of the kneecap regardless of leggings underneath.  If your skirt/dress just touches the top of the knee and it has a slit in it\, it is too short.  You can stitch up a slit or use safety pins to close it up.\nLeggings or shorts are required if the skirt rises past the knees while twirling.  It’s a good idea to wear shorts or leggings under your skirts regardless of length.\nNo low-cut\, strapless\, backless\, or halter tops. No peekaboo cutouts.  Solid Straps need to be at least one inch wide.  No exposed cleavage\, midriffs or bra straps.  If you aren’t sure\, wear a cardigan over your dress.\nIf your top is sheer or see through\, you need to wear underneath solid straps that are at least one inch wide.\nGirls can wear a t-shirt under their dress or along with a skirt.\nNo pants (other than leggings under your skirt or dress).\nClosed toe shoes are recommended.  No flip flops\, socks\, or bare feet.  If the girls want to wear heels\, please bring a second pair of shoes that will be more comfortable in case they need/want to remove their heels.\n\nPlease view the visual dress code: ACHEV Dress Code for Dances In General \nHelpers: I would like a few people to bring a plate of cookies or cupcakes to share.  I would also love to have a photographer for this special event.  Do you have a relative or friend that would like to donate their time to do this for us?  Or perhaps a mom can come take photos while the dads and girls dance?  For decorations\, we don’t need much and I will just have some basic things set up\, but if there is a mom with a knack for decor and just loves doing that sort of thing\, we’d love to have your help with decorating before the event.  You can sign up to help with photography\, decor\, or bringing a treat on the sign up sheet here. \nSign Up for the Dance Here
