SUMMARY:Beach Day - Carpinteria
DESCRIPTION:Join us for beach time at Carpinteria City Beach at the end of Linden Ave (near the intersection of Linden and Sandyland). It’s best to look for free street parking\, but there is paid parking in the campground where the bathrooms are. \nHow to Find Us: If you park on Linden Ave\, walk to the end of the street (the street ends in a parking lot and there is a lifeguard tower right there and a hotel).  Walk straight out and to the left – we will plan to park our stuff in front of the volleyball courts\, but close to the water.  I will be there with my blue beach tent up\, a big blue beach blanket and my kids will have their body boards.  We are bringing a picnic lunch\, but there is a neat little burger stand within walking distance from the beach called “The Spot”.  We will bring a volleyball for the big kids that want to play. \nIt would be nice to know you are coming so we can look out for you.  Let me know if you are coming so we can try to be sure you find us!   You can rsvp by emailing bonnieadair@verizon.net or text me at 805-504-6457 \n

DESCRIPTION:Our family has been taking a picnic dinner to the park to hear the Camarillo Community Band summer concert series for many years. This year\, we would love to have you all join us! \nThis is for the whole family. Bring low back chairs\, or a blanket\, picnic dinner\, and look for your ACHEV friends if you’d like to sit with us. They usually have a bubble machine for the kids. Last year\, they had Mr. Softee there every week! The kids are invited up to help direct one of the marches. They choose a variety of interesting\, fun music. SUMMARY:Beach Day Summer's Beach

SUMMARY:Beginning Samba Class 2/2

SUMMARY:Hike & Art
DESCRIPTION:RSVP by Monday night 7/24 by emailing or texting Bonnie 805-504-6457 bonnieadair@verizon.net  I need to know who is coming so we can all start together. \nWhat: A moderate hike for families with littles.  Join us on a not-too-hard for the littles hike on the Ray Miller Backbone Trail.  My plan is to stop at a nice overlook (not taking the whole trail) and sit to have some lunch and do some art.  There is a spot that I think is wide enough for a small group to stop and sit.  I will bring supplies for doing chalk pastel.  There is a beautiful ocean view that the kids can try to draw.   I have enough chalk pastels to share with a few families\, but if you have your own\, that would be helpful to bring them.  Of course\, you could choose to bring watercolors\, oil pastel or something else too =)  I think it will take us 45 min to not more than an hour to get up there with young children.  Go potty before you leave home.  There are portos in the parking lot\, but it’s hard to say if they will be in decent enough condition. \nCost: Parking in the La Jolla Day use Parking lot will cost $8.  Usually I go with my husband\, and we park on PCH for free and walk in.  I think with just me and the kids I would rather park in the lot and pay the fee.  It’s up to you and your comfort level. \nBring: In addition to what you would normally want on a hike (sunscreen\, hats\, light jackets\, etc) please bring a lunch in your backpack\, a light blanket to sit on and chalk pastels or other art medium of your choice.  I have enough chalk pastels to share with a small group of kids and will bring paper for everyone\, but if you have your own art journal – even better =) \nLink to map \nTrail Info \n

SUMMARY:Teen Game Club
DESCRIPTION:What: Teen directed board games.   We have tons of board games.  You are welcome to bring a favorite game from home to share with the group as well.  They usually start out with board games and will migrate towards group role play games at the end of the afternoon.  They have a lot of fun.  We have snacks\, so feel free to bring one to share but it is not needed so don’t stress about bringing something. \nWho: ACHEV members 6th Grade and up\, recent ACHEV grads. \nRSVP: Is needed so that I can make sure we have enough chairs and tables out\, or in case we need to change the host home in case of illness\, etc.  Bonnieadair@verizon.net 805-504-6457 \nDrop off is okay for this event.  Feel free to go home or run errands\, etc.  If parents prefer to stay\, that is welcome as well\, and if you have younger children with you they can stay also.  Please let me know if you will be bringing younger children with you so I can plan something for our younger kids to do together while the teens have their game time. \n

SUMMARY:Volleyball Clinic/Games
DESCRIPTION:ACHEV Dad\, Kevin Adair hosts this volleyball clinic for ACHEV kids 10 and up.  The kids play volleyball games from 2pm-3pm.  At 3pm\, they sometimes continue playing volleyball for another hour\, and sometimes they choose to get a different game going.   We continue playing through the year\, and if you log enough hours\, you can count this for High School credit. \nThis is for fun\, exercise\, and to learn how to play the game\, this is not hyper competitive.  Kevin would love to do drilling and teach the kids more technique if they want to learn.  So if you want to get better at serving\, setting\, etc. ask Mr. Adair to help you. \nWho: ACHEV kids ages 10 and up.  You don’t have to know how to play\, Mr. Adair will teach you. \nDrop off is okay for this event.  If you are dropping off\, please make sure we have your cell number in case we need to reach you. \nWe start at 2\, and it’s really helpful if everyone gets there about the same time. \nPlease rsvp via email bonnieadair@verizon.net and make sure I have your email address and cell number in case I need to reach you. \nBonnie 805-504-6457 \nKevin 805-906-0520
