DESCRIPTION:I have not had much time so slow down and free read lately. Maybe this is you too? However\, a book was just recommended to me recently\, Before We Were Yours\, by Lisa Wingate. I was intrigued how my friend was moved by this book and the clincher for me to read at this time in my life of busyness\, is that it was an easy read. Not necessarily the topic\, but the writing style. The book is based on a true story. \nFrom the authors website\, \n“Based on one of America’s most notorious real-life scandals—in which Georgia Tann\, director of a Memphis-based adoption organization\, kidnapped and sold poor children to wealthy families all over the country.” \nHere is a link to the author’s website that will give you some more details. \nhttps://lisawingate.com/books/before-we-were-yours/ \nThe book is readily available at libraries\, Thrift Book\, Amazon\, etc.. I ordered my book from the Ventura County Public Library and at the time it looked as though there were many copies. \nRead the book over the summer and plan for a meetup/book discussion with Alfresco Dining\, potluck style\, on the deck. \nWe will meet up on September 16\, at my residence at 6:00pm.
