SUMMARY:Seal Watch - Carpinteria
DESCRIPTION:What: Docent-led visit to the Carpinteria Seal Sanctuary  https://carpinteriasealwatch.org/ .  At this time\, the seals should be pupping. \nWhere: Meet in the parking lot off of Bailard Ave.   And then we will walk together to the bluff where we will meet the docent and view the seals. \nWhen: Meet in Parking Lot at 10:40\, we are scheduled to meet the docent on the bluff at 11AM.  Arrive earlier if you want to use a restroom before we start.  There is a restroom at the neighboring park/softball fields. \nCost: Free \nWho: ACHEV members all ages \nSign Up Here.  Max 25 people\nOptional After the Field Trip: Please join us for a picnic lunch and playing around on the beach right next to the seal watch area.  There will be a negative tide at 12:42 pm so it will be a perfect time to explore tidepools!  Bring an easy lunch that won’t be too burdensome to carry in a backpack. \nSpecial Notes: \nWe ask that you talk with the kids before arriving so that they  understand when viewing wildlife in their natural setting\, it’s important to be calm and use calm voices.  It can be pretty exciting for them.  The volunteers will help with giving them a friendly\, gentle reminder\, if needed.   Also\, we are up on a high bluff\, so we ask for parents to really watch the kids \nDogs are not permitted\, they scare the seals. \n  \n  \n

SUMMARY:Peter & the Wolf: The Voice\, the Instrument\, and the Wolf
DESCRIPTION:What: Join us for a concert featuring story telling and the best music written for young musicians including pieces from Peter and the Wolf\, The Greatest Showman\, and the Mandalorian. \nCalvary Center Stage is cordially inviting your school to attend a production of Peter & the Wolf and other concert pieces in collaboration with Los Robles Children’s Choir and the Conejo Valley Youth Orchestra. This is a free event\, but a reservation is necessary to secure seats.   I have reserved 30 seats for ACHEV.  I should be able to secure more seats if I know that more people want to go\, so please sign up\, and if it is full already put yourself on the wait list. There is only one date for the show on Friday\, March 15@ 10:00 am. The show will run approximately 45 minutes\, and students will have an opportunity to play some of the instruments in the lobby after the concert. \nAlthough the performance is only 45 minutes\, students will have a chance to try some of the instruments in the lobby after the concert. This will be made available until 11:15 am. \nI would like to meet up in front a little early (before doors open at 9:30) so we can try to go in as a group.  Last year\, they did have special assigned seating by group.  As the event gets closer\, I will confirm with them what the seating arrangements will be and let everyone know what to do and where to meet. \nSign Up Here.   Sign up deadline is March 7\, 2024.  Please include all students and parents attending on the sign up sheet.\n \n
