SUMMARY:Great Pacific Pumpkin Patch Field Trip
DESCRIPTION:Oh\, fall.  So many of us look forward to this season\, and pumpkins and all things pumpkin-spiced is one of the reasons why.   Join us for one of my favorite field trips of the year.  We are going to the McGrath Brothers Great Pacific Pumpkin Patch.  It has been a while since our group has visited this pumpkin patch.  It is in Ventura on Olivas Park Drive\, it is not the one in Camarillo. \nWe will receive an educational pumpkin/squash talk\, a hay ride on their beautiful property while we learn a bit of the history of their farm\, a visit with the animals (including ducks and pigs) and then everyone can pick out their own pumpkins.  Children will get to pick out one small sugar pumpkin to take home (included in $7 field trip fee). \nCost: $7 per child ages 6 and up.  $1 for every adult and kids under 6 (including babies).  Children under 6 that do not pay $7\, do not get a sugar pumpkin included\, but you can choose and pay for as many additional pumpkins and squash as you like.  Bring cash with you for the field trip fees. I will collect from everyone as you arrive and make one lump payment for our group before the field trip starts.  They take credit cards at the farm stand if you want to purchase additional pumpkins from them. \nTime: Our tour starts at 10:00.  Please arrive at 9:45 so that I can collect cash from everyone and make payment before the tour starts.  The tour will last about 45-60 minutes\, but plan to spend a little extra time afterwards to look at their wonderful selection of pumpkins and squash that are great for eating\, decorating and carving. \nSign Up Here\nAdditional Info: \n\nThey have a wide and wonderful selection of pumpkins\, squash\, gourds\, and colorful corn available for purchase.   We have been to a lot of pumpkin patches\, and this is my favorite to purchase from.  They should have a bunch of dried out gourds to choose from and they make a really fun art project for Halloween or Thanksgiving.\nThey are dog friendly as long as your dog stays on a leash and you clean up after it.\nBring your whole family and your camera!  They have a lot of good photo ops here =)\nWear good shoes.  There is a lot of dirt and some uneven ground.  Potentially mud depending on weather.\n\n \n

SUMMARY:Medieval Times Field Trip - Buena Park
DESCRIPTION:I booked the Heraldry Package for Our Group\, which gives us preferred center section seating and each person a cheering banner in the color of the knight we will be cheering for. \nhttps://www.medievaltimes.com/groups/field-trips \nHere are some lesson plan ideas and resources from Medieval Times to explore before and after your trip! \nWho Can Come: All ACHEV Families.  You may bring non-ACHEV siblings (graduates included) to this event.  We do not have a chaperone limit\, so mom and dad might both want to come\, and you may also invite grandparents if you think they would enjoy it.    Children under the age of 3 are welcome and admitted free as long as they sit on adults’ laps and eat from their plate. If you prefer the child to have his or her own seat and meal then the regular rate would apply. \nWhen: Thursday October 19\, 2023. Show time is at 11:30.  Doors open at 10:30 and they recommend that we arrive at 10:30.  If you sign up for this field trip\, please plan to be there at 10:30.  This will give us time to check in\, use restrooms\, explore the castle where they have lots of fun things to look at\, and also browse the gift shops.  Seating begins at 11:15. \nCost: $40.03 Per Person ages 3 and up.  Must be paid no later than October 4th.  This price is inclusive of tax and gratuity. \nPayment: Payment in advance is required by Oct 4th (Zelle preferred).  Send $ to Bonnie Adair via Zelle 805-504-6457 / bonnieadair@verizon.net  or meet up with me in person to give me cash/check ahead of time\, or mail a check to: Bonnie Adair 174 Granada Street\, Camarillo\, CA 93010  You can send it to me via Paypal as well https://paypal.me/bonniemaeadair?country.x=US&locale.x=en_US  Please make sure that you say you are sending $ to friends and family\, not paying for a service. \nRefunds: If you notify me by 10/4/23 of the need to cancel\, I can refund your full payment.  Refunds after that are not possible.  If you give me one or two days notice\, I can request a credit that can be used at a matinee to be scheduled in the future (no expiration date). \nHow to Sign Up: Please sign up as soon as you can commit to putting this on your calendar.  I have to sign a contract and make a deposit in August with final payment due two weeks before our field trip.   It is important for me to know well in advance what our group size will be.  Deadline to sign up is October 4th\, but it would be really helpful if you don’t wait until the last minute.  Thanks =) \nBefore you sign up for this field trip\, please understand that this is located in Northern Orange County\, near Knotts Berry Farm.  Traffic will be bad so the drive will be long. \nThere is some extra information I need to collect for this field trip.  Here are some of the additional things you will see on the sign up sheet. \n\nPlease make note if you need a meal accommodation/vegetarian/gluten free meal.  They have detailed meal and allergen information available.  Here is the allergen chart  See this flier to view the day’s menu as it has been provided to me\nSpecial Needs: Please make a note in the sign up sheet if you need accommodation for a wheel chair or walker.   Please Be Aware: Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament is a live horse show in an enclosed area.
