SUMMARY:Girls Self Defense Class
DESCRIPTION:What: Self Defense class for young ladies.  Your instructors will be Jordana and Tracy.  No males will be present. \nWho: Ladies only.  ACHEV members 6th grade and older.  Moms of young ladies in attendance may sign up to take the class as well\, or drop off.   The studio is very small\, so there will probably not be room for spectators\, so please plan to drop off and do not bring tag along siblings.  If you are dropping off\, there is a local coffee shop a block or two away called The Local Cup\, or you might go visit a nearby park (Libbey Park\, Foster Park\, Camp Comfort). \nMax 10 participants \nCost: $30 Per person.  You may pay cash\, check\, or Venmo when you arrive. \nWhat to wear/Bring: Wear athletic clothing i.e.; leggings\, sports bra with a t shirt or tank\, athletic shoes.  Shorts are okay\, but you may want to be cautious about wearing loose fitting shorts as we will be laying on the floor quite a bit.  Bring a bottle of water. \nClick Here to Sign Up    10am-12:00pm\nA Second Class has been added!  Sign up for the 1:00-3:00 class here – same day 5/26\n  \n  \n

SUMMARY:Teen Game Club
DESCRIPTION:What: Teen directed board games.   We have tons of board games.  You are welcome to bring a favorite game from home to share with the group as well.  They usually start out with board games and will migrate towards group role play games at the end of the afternoon.  They have a lot of fun.  We have snacks\, so feel free to bring one to share but it is not needed so don’t stress about bringing something. \nWho: ACHEV members 6th Grade and up\, recent ACHEV grads. \nRSVP: Is needed so that I can make sure we have enough chairs and tables out\, or in case we need to change the host home in case of illness\, etc.  Bonnieadair@verizon.net 805-504-6457 \nDrop off is okay for this event.  Feel free to go home or run errands\, etc.  If parents prefer to stay\, that is welcome as well\, and if you have younger children with you they can stay also.  Please let me know if you will be bringing younger children with you so I can plan something for our younger kids to do together while the teens have their game time. \n

SUMMARY:Teen Game Club
DESCRIPTION:What: Teen directed board games.   We have tons of board games.  You are welcome to bring a favorite game from home to share with the group as well.  They usually start out with board games and will migrate towards group role play games at the end of the afternoon.  They have a lot of fun.  We have snacks\, so feel free to bring one to share but it is not needed so don’t stress about bringing something. \nWho: ACHEV members 6th Grade and up\, recent ACHEV grads. \nRSVP: Is needed so that I can make sure we have enough chairs and tables out\, or in case we need to change the host home in case of illness\, etc.  Bonnieadair@verizon.net 805-504-6457 \nDrop off is okay for this event.  Feel free to go home or run errands\, etc.  If parents prefer to stay\, that is welcome as well\, and if you have younger children with you they can stay also.  Please let me know if you will be bringing younger children with you so I can plan something for our younger kids to do together while the teens have their game time. \n

SUMMARY:West Coast Swing Lessons 12 week series
DESCRIPTION:What: Private ballroom dance classes for ACHEV at House of Dance – Lesson for 45 minutes\, dance practice to music for 15 minutes.  This is a 12-class series taking place on Wednesdays Jan: 10\, 17\, 24\, 31 Feb: 7\, 14\, 21\, 28 Mar: 6\, 13\, 20\, 27.  We will start at the beginning level.  If you would like to join this class\, you need to start with us on January 10th.  We will not be able to add new people once the series has begun. \n \nWest Coast Swing is a really fun dance where you can learn to add your own personality and flair to it.  It is quite different from the other dances we have learned and it will take a little more time to master it.  Please consider joining us\, because it will be well worth the effort.   \nModern West Coast Swing is not dependent on the music genre and can be danced to any music in 4/4 tempo. The basic music for West Coast Swing is generally the Blues\, which offers a rhythm with swung eighth notes. SUMMARY:Tracking: Wilderness Skills Outdoor Adventure
DESCRIPTION:Hello Everyone.  There’s a lot of information here\, so please read it all.  (Also since there is a lot of info here\, please let me know if it looks like I might have made a mistake somewhere).  The information at the beginning is general information for all of the outings\,  and towards the bottom I will add more specific  details for each outing as the information becomes available.  The specifics of each outing can’t be known too far in advance because things depend on weather and what nature is providing at the time (water availability\, natural plant availability which depends on rainfall\, etc).  These outings are being led by “Tracker Rob”\, and tracking animals is his specialty\, but he has many survival skills and a love for nature that he enjoys sharing.  There are many exciting skills to learn\, and we will start on Feb 15 with a survival skills basics outing\, which will be followed by going more in depth into skills such as animal tracking\, shelter making\, and edible and medicinal plants.   Make sure to include your email address when you sign up.  Please contact me (Bonnie) with questions first.  I will be the main point of contact for the outings. \n\nDear Parent or Guardian: \nWelcome and thank you for your interest in attending my Nature Connection/Outdoor Education outings.  Many exciting nature and outdoor skills topics and activities are planned for the Spring 2024 season\, February – May.  As you know\, Bonnie Adair is organizing and your child/children have been invited to attend.  The following information lists what you’ll need for your child/children to enroll in these outings. \nThe outing dates reserved for SPRING 2024 (February – May) are: \n   February 15  (Thurs)       March 7 (Thurs)         March 28  (Thurs)      April 29 (Mon)  May 16 (Thurs) \n  The Fee for attending each outing is:  $ 60.00 per child per outing. \nParents are invited to attend\, at no charge\, and are very much welcome.
