DESCRIPTION:Please join us for a play date at Harbor Cove Beach in Ventura\, also known as “Mother’s Beach” because this beach is protected from waves.  It is a great place for little swimmers to play in the water and big swimmers to really get out there without making mom worry. It is also great spot for kayaking or SUP.  We are bringing a kid size kayak\, and my kids are happy to take turns with their friends if they want to give it a try.  Bring your wet suits\, sand toys\, sunscreen\, hats and jackets ( you never know when the clouds will roll in or the wind will kick up). We will try to remember our volleyball if anyone wants to get a game going – they have several sand courts near the parking lot. \nParking is free and should be plentiful if you arrive around 10am.  There are restrooms in the parking lot. I will have a blue pop up tent.  When you walk out onto the beach\, we will be set up to the right hand side in front of the right-most white buoy. \n**Keep in mind that the fair is in town\, so it is possible that traffic might be heavier than usual\, especially if you come late.  The fair opens at 11am. \nThere is no need to RSVP\, but it would be nice to know if you are planning on coming.  Just one rsvp for your family.

It’s best to look for free street parking\, but there is paid parking in the campground where the bathrooms are.  We will be meeting nearby the volleyball courts.   One tip I have for this beach is to bring shoes that will protect your feet from the hot sand while walking to and from the car and if you want to play Beach Volleyball – flip flops don’t do the trick.  The sand is beautiful and clean\, but gets hot very quickly when the sun is out.  I will be there with my blue beach tent and my kids will have their body boards.  We are bringing a picnic lunch\, but there is a neat little burger stand within walking distance from the beach called “The Spot”. \n
