SUMMARY:PE Co-Op
DESCRIPTION:ACHEV activities\, events\, and field trips are for ACHEV students unless otherwise noted. \nWhat: \nElementary PE Co-Op (@ ages 5-12): \nWe are gathering together to teach our children to work as a team\, develop strength\, perseverance\, good sportsmanship and friendships through physical activity. We start with a warm up exercise routine that will help the children build strength and balance.  It is really fun to see how much they improve over the school year.  After the warm up\, we do structured activities for about 45 minutes.  Afterwards we have optional free play. \nSome examples of things we have done in the past: Relay races\, obstacle courses\, “Toxic River”\, “Barbarians”\, “Steal the Bacon”\, crab soccer\, jump rope\, and four-square.  We have also spent time playing games and doing drills to work on specific skills such as improving reaction time\, learning how to pass a volleyball\, hand-eye coordination\, etc. \nThis is not a drop off class.  Parents take turns leading activities and help supervise and assist their children as needed. \nLittles PE Co-Op (@ ages 2-5): \nNicole Reyes is leading this group.  Age appropriate PE games for the little ones will be taking place at the same time as the Elementary PE Co-Op.  This is not a drop off class.  Parents will be supervising and assisting their children as needed. You are welcome to bring your infants with you. \nWho: ACHEV members 2- 12 years.   Infants are welcome to tag along.  We  have room for more families to join us in both groups\, so please consider joining us. \nThis co-op aims to be a commitment for the school year as opposed to a “drop-in” program.  If you’re curious\, but would like to try it out first\, please feel free to come for a couple sessions and see if it’s something you can commit to for the rest of the year.  We also invite students to join the group at any time in the year.   \nThe dates for the whole school year are printed below and all dates are also on the ACHEV calendar\, all are on Friday mornings.  We will meet at Pitts Ranch Park  (Camarillo).   Please email or text Bonnie Adair 805-504-6457 bonnieadair@verizon.net if you are interested in joining us.   We need to know how many children will be present in order to help with activity planning.  Feel free to reach out with any questions. \nSept 18 \nOctober 2\, 16\, 30 \nNovember 13 \nDecember 4\, 11 \nJanuary 15\, 29 \nFebruary 12\, 26 \nMarch 12\, 19 \nApril 2\, 16 \nMay 7\, 21
