Join us for a fun time exploring low tide at Carpinteria State Beach led by Mr. Panzer.  The lowest tide is about 3:30 pm, so we will gather at 2pm and follow the tide out, looking at things as they gradually get exposed.  We will also have a short “guide to tidepooling” talk about how to handle animals,  how to look for animals, what you might expect to see and so forth.

Who: Everyone.  This field trip is for all ACHEV members and is appropriate for all ages

Cost: This field trip is free.  The only cost is parking if you choose to park in the State Beach/Campground parking lot, for a daily rate of $10.

A note about parking: The main reef is right out front of the main parking lot.  If you want to park for free, and walk, you can look around for free street parking.  There will probably be plenty of free street parking on Linden Ave  https://goo.gl/maps/AzVcmPtxeEm

Meeting Spot: We will meet at the picnic area near the restrooms on the Palm Ave side of the campground parking lot.

What to Wear: Dress in layers, have jackets and hats/beanies/hoodies as the temperatures and wind may change.  No bare feet!  Wear rubber soled water shoes or old tennis shoes that can get wet.

Additional Info: There are lots of neat places to eat near the campground if we want to get dinner or a treat afterwards, or maybe eat out for lunch before tidepooling.
