DESCRIPTION:This is a church small group at Encounter (church at the corner of Ralston and Johnson in Ventura) for homeschool parents hosted by ACHEV moms Andie Savard and Susan Pineda. It is open to ACHEV\, the church\, and the community. \nPlease note start time may vary from month to month depending on the topic. Some events may begin at 6\, 6:30\, or 7. Watch for special notices about each event for details of each meeting. Thank you. \nThis will be selected Tuesday evenings monthly at Encounter\, located at 6950 Ralston Avenue (corner of Johnson and Ralston) in Ventura. RSVP is important\, as we may need to reach you if something changes. \nDates for the year – RSVP to Susan at 805-407-6851. \n9/21/2021 – Records and planning. This will be held in two sessions. 6:30-7:15: Planning and records for all ages and stages. 7:30-8:30 we focus on planning and records for high school. Come to one or both. \n \n10/12/2021 – Helpful Hindsight from retired homeschool moms. This is one of our most popular meetings! We will have a panel of moms to share from their wisdom and experience. \n \n11/9/2021 – Holidays and Homeschooling! We will talk about family traditions\, getting the most out of family time\, tips for handling the homeschool naysayers/kid quizzers in your life\, and whatever is on your mind! \n \nNo meeting in December. \n1/18/2022 – Informed Decisions: Do you know what you need to know to make the best decision for your family? Charter school or private home education? We will cover the pros and cons of each. Invite your friends. \n \n2/8/2022 – Let’s talk about the realities of love and romance while homeschooling. \n \n3/8/2022 – Homeschooling Through High School: 6:30-7:15 high school overview\, 7:30-8:30 planning and records practical workshop (bring your laptop and let’s get to work on those records!) \n \n4/19/2022 – Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Home Education. This is an overview of home education in CA. Invite your friends who are thinking about homeschooling. \n \n5/17/2022 – Helpful Hindsight from retired homeschool moms. This is one of our most popular meetings! We will have a different panel of moms to share from their wisdom and experience. \n \nWe may have some meetings in the summer.
