What: Guided Nature Hike and craft with an outdoor survival theme led by Lars.   We will be taken on an educational hike learning about outdoor survival, edible plants, and local creatures.  Following the hike, we will break for lunch, and then do a 30 minute survival themed craft.  We are planning to have two different crafts to choose from, one geared towards younger children, and one designed for older children.

When: Friday, March 9, 2018,  10:00 am – 1:00 pm

• 10:00-12:00 guided educational hike
• 12:00-12:30 lunch in reserved covered picnic area (they do not have a place to store lunches, so it may be easiest to keep your lunches in     your car until after the hike)
• 12:30-1:00 craft             

Where: Camarillo Grove Park 6968 E. Camarillo Springs Road (101 Freeway Exit – Camarillo Spring Rd.)   Meet at the nature center.

                **The parking fees will be waived for our group

 Who: Everyone!  It is estimated that the hike will be do-able for kids 4 and over.  For younger kids, you may want to plan to have something to carry them in.  Based on information I was given, it is possible that a good all terrain stroller can make it through the trail without too much difficulty, but the trail is not made for stroller/wheelchair access and I have not personally been on the trail to see for myself.

Cost: $10 per student, paid in advance.  All supplies are provided.  Parent chaperones are free.  Non-participating siblings three and under are free.  If your toddler/preschooler is participating in the outdoor education and wants to do the craft you should pay the fee.

Notes:  Must pay $10 per participant in advance by February 22nd.  I need to make payment in advance on February 23rd, so you will not be refunded if you don’t show.  You can send a check or cash to Bonnie Adair, 174 Granada Street, Camarillo.  You can also drop it by my house in my locked mailbox, or meet up with me somewhere.  We need a minimum of 15 paid for this class.
