Blueberry Farm Educational & Picking Field Trip
March 22, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
What: Let’s get together for a fun and educational field trip at One Acre Farm in the Santa Rosa Valley. Co-Owner Scott Bahler is excited to share with our kids his knowledge of healthy eating habits, organic farming, varieties of blueberries, how to start farming, and the rewards and challenges they face being small farmers. He will start with topics that are appropriate for all ages, and then if you have little kids that are tiring of the educational talk, you are welcome to start picking early while the older kids go a little more in depth into agriculture education.
Who: Everyone. This field trip is family friendly.
Cost: Field Trip is free, and you are welcome to pick blueberries for $3.50 per 6 oz container.
Details:
- Do not bring dogs.
- Wear closed toe shoes.
- You may bring a stroller but some smaller umbrella type strollers may have difficulty on the terrain.
- You may bring a picnic lunch, but there will only be dirt to picnic on. If you want to picnic on the farm, you may bring blankets and chairs. Perhaps we can meet at a local park for a picnic lunch if we aren’t all too tired and ready to go home. Email me if you know of any fun parks in the Santa Rosa area.
- Dress in layers, wear sunscreen & hats, bring water.
