ACHEV activities, events, and field trips are for ACHEV students unless otherwise noted.

Please join us for a fun field trip to the Moxi Museum in Santa Barbara.  This is a fun interactive science museum.  This is a self guided tour.  We have freedom to explore the museum in small groups.  It is a fun place to play and learn!

When: Monday November 2, 2026

Time: 10am (please arrive 15 minutes early to check in)

Who:  ACHEV members, all ages

Pricing:

• Student Admission (ages 2+): $10
• Infants Under age 2 are free
• Optional Lab: Additional $10 – I need to know ASAP if anyone and what grade levels are interested in this option.  We need a minimum number of 10 students in a close grade range (pk-2, 3rd-5th, 6th-8th) to be able to add this on and I need to know before 10/19.  Labs are 50 minutes.  They limit the number adults permitted in the lab.  See lab choices here.
• Chaperones: Free up to a 1:5 ratio (the first parents to sign up will have priority.  All other parents will need to pay $18)
• Additional Chaperones: $18  (this is the group rate discount for adults, general admission is $25)

RSVP:  Sign up on the google doc by 10/18/26.  **I have already paid a deposit for this field trip and we need a minimum of 10 students in order to make it happen.  If I don’t see at least 10 students on the sign up sheet by 10/1/26, I will need to consider canceling to get my deposit back.

Here are some field trip guidelines for your upcoming trip:

All our exhibits are hands-on and interactive because MOXI is a place for exploration and discovery! Because of this, our field trips are self-guided with floor staff “MOXI Sparks” available to assist.

Field trips typically spend about 90 minutes in the museum and have access to the entire museum. They may require us to split up into three groups.

Food and Drink: Please have your students leave their backpacks and water bottles in the car. We do not have any area within the museum for field trips to eat lunch. Most of our field trips that bring lunches, eat at the grassy area right next to MOXI or walk down to the sitting wall at the beach.

Parking:  Most visitors park in the train station parking lot (right next to MOXI). The first 75 minutes are free and every additional hour is $3.00. There is limited free street parking nearby. Additional parking can be found in any of the nearby Santa Barbara city lots.
