What ACHEV Means to Me

In God’s Word, Proverbs 17:17 says, “A friend loves at all times!” When our daughter Noel was young, it was a daily prayer for our family to find a community of like-minded people to do life with and build each other up to do good works for God’s glory!

When I think of a hand-made quilt, I think of ACHEV and how each of us start out as a single square and as God weaves us together to share our gifts and talents, we become something extra special and unique! Getting to know other families from ACHEV through park days, beach days, field trips, sewing classes, art festivals, and our family’s personal favorites…the dances were priceless. 🙂

So many of our neighbors raised their children in the public schools and could not believe all that Noel had access to as a homeschool child. Many thanks to countless individuals who strive to keep ACHEV excellent in its foundation to keep God at the helm of all your endeavors. We are so grateful for ACHEV and the support we have had every step of the way! As our daughter grew, she enjoyed beautiful, wholesome friendships all the way through high school. Her senior graduation was truly out of a storybook that God brought to life.

Now that our daughter is grown, I find myself still needing community as she is building a life of her own. When my husband became very sick last year and had to be hospitalized, ACHEV moms lovingly came alongside us as our cavalry to help us through a very difficult time. Families I had not seen in years, made homemade meals for my family to help us remember we are never alone. Also, I am extremely grateful to still be invited to the Mom’s Night Out events! I had the privilege recently to join Bonnie, Susan and Wendy at the Bonnie’s home. Bonnie taught us how to make sushi! We had so much fun!

In closing, I want to personally thank Susan for being such a godly mentor to me and my daughter over many years. Susan, you are truly one of my favorite people and I am so thankful to God for knitting our heartstrings together forever through ACHEV.
